Storm Update from Elie Y. Katz–Sunday 11am- please share

Presently, we have over 150 trees down. All major Roads are clear except Queen Anne by Rt 4. We’re waiting for PSEG to respond .

DPW and several contractors are out cutting trees.

Low water pressure is still being reported in town but we’re unable to determine if a boil water advisory is in effect…I would play it safe and not drink.

I just spoke to PSEG (10am). 81,000 of 120,000 Bergen Customers are without power. They are working on a local hospital and United Water and other critical county points. They are working with the county Office of Emergency Management and coordinating efforts with the local municipalities. They do not have any estimate for when power could be restored. Some power in town has already been restored. They said it could take a few days…and they will keep me updated.

Teaneck Council Election, May 11th, 2010

Help Needed!!

Dear Neighbor,
On Tuesday May 11, 2010 Teaneck will hold its Council Election.

There will be four open seats.
My seat will be among those up for election and I have decided to run again. I hope that I will be among those you choose to send to the next Council.
During my Tenure on Council I have been an advocate for every Teaneck resident and constantly made myself available to my neighbors in all sectors of the township.
I have worked hard to control spending, sought government efficiencies and personally been responsible for over fifteen million dollars of new revenue to help keep our municipal tax rate as reasonable as possible. In addition I have vigorously pursued the implementation of improvements in hundreds of areas related to the quality of life and safety of our residents.
I am sensitive to the fact that we are clearly still in very difficult financial times, and as a result, I am continually looking to make Teaneck both better and more affordable.
I need your help and support now more than ever!
Please email me if you have time to volunteer on my campaign, or can host a cottage party or wish to post a lawn sign.
Thank you for your past support and for your vote and assistance in the future.
